SPORTS EDITOR for the Brattleboro Reformer and reformer.com The Brattleboro Reformer, a Distinguished Newspaper in sunny Brattleboro, Vt., is looking for its next sports editor to lead the region in local sports coverage in Windham County and beyond. Our sports editor gets to interview Vermont's many Olympic athletes and champions; this talented writer also will follow high school freshmen all the way to college and sometimes even the pros; and the Reformer's sports editor is an active part of the Southern Vermont sports community. There are a number of high schools to cover, as well as other nontraditional sports, from ice fishing to skateboarding. The entire region is built on sport: Harris Hill Ski Jump; Mount Snow; Ascutney; Okemo; Stratton and more, such as the Appalachian and Long trails, as well as a lifetime's worth of wild places to explore. World-class fishing abounds, and Brattleboro is well-known for its culture scene. This is a full-time, salaried position based on experience, and comes with traditional workplace benefits, such as a company laptop and phone, health and dental, and more. Our very independent and self-starting sports editor will often work nights and some weekends, with a 66/33 percent mix of field/ remote reporting, and in-office work.
